The little hot tub was fantastic, the deck was better than imagined and it was lovely in the sun under the trees in the morning. The little bar and restaurant was also great and the shop opened late.

No breakfast served. Bought bakery roll which was delicious and coffee. Had pizza one night which was very good. Would have liked a breakfast menu.

The rooms only saving grace was a grimy window in the bathroom that narrowly had a view of a pretty trail that led to a beach.

Lovely location in the middle of Big Sur. Nice room with big and comfortable bed. We had dinner at the pub/restaurant with decent pizza and a fun pub quiz! Market/cafe next door has anything you might need.

The bed was very comfortable and we also appreciated having our personal sleeping area separated from the main room by a small door. The restaurant is well stocked and the service at the bar is excellent. There is also a small market where you can buy basic necessities. Check in was quick and thorough. Definitely a good place to stay if you are visiting the area!

We had a room next to the general store and faced the highway, but it wasn't noisy at all and the highway is nearly without traffic at night. Our room was very clean and well stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner and handsoap. We had one queen bed and one double bed in a small attached room. The beds were very comfortable. It got a little chilly at night, but the two baseboard heaters worked great! Having a general store and restaurant on site was very convenient. The store had an espresso bar and served Lappert's ice cream. It also had a nice selection of groceries, sundries, and souvenirs. I enjoyed coffee and a tasty muffin on the front patio each morning. The restaurant food was pretty good with the usual fare (burgers, sandwiches, pizza, tacos, salad, etc.). The back patio was a nice place to dine, with hanging and torch lights, as well as sitting areas with fire pits. All the staff we came in contact with from the cashier at general store, restaurant staff, and cleaning staff were very pleasant. I will definitely be returning to Fernwood and telling my friends about this charming place!

Great location near the big sur river. Gorgeous, ultra modern bathroom, but the bedroom decor didnt match with older style furniture & dated, minimal facilities. Free parking right next to room. Nice restaurant with lots of variety (had the best tuna fish burrito) & on-site store selling food & other essentials.

Customer service was awesome. Every time I walked into the gift shop restaurant everyone knew my name which was incredible. The room was clean, spacious the views out the windows, the balcony close to the river landscaping excellent overall a great experience. I will definitely be back perhaps to camp next time.
